Pod křídlem noci… enjoy more
Prague has joined all the cities that offer their visitors a unique gastronomical project. The restaurant Pod křídlem noci takes its visitors into two words: a world of light and a world of darkness. The first world, illuminated with sunlight, follows a long-standing tradition of the restaurant Pod křídlem, which has always been built upon the quality and mastership of its chefs. The second world, or the world under the veil of darkness, represents an absolute novelty, not only in our capital city, but also in the entire Czech Republic. Visitors are brought into area of darkest night, where a new dimension of perception opens to them: they are to use all of their senses, with exception of sight. This unique atmosphere is supported by an original program constituting various genres. The new interior respects the world’s design trends.
Look back
The first restaurant where visitors eat in dark was opened in 1999 in Zurich, Switzerland. The origination of the project was initiated by the organization Blind - Leicht that aimed to create new working positions for blind people and people with other sight handicaps. Since then, the concept has been taken over by other big cities such as London, Paris, Moscow and Beijing. However, the Beijing restaurant is derived from the original concept as the personnel use night vision goggles. The project also acquired supporters in the United States and in Canada.
